Every day the list of things I'm afraid of gets smaller. Yesterday I was not afraid of downtown, today I will not be afraid of the airport. I'm no longer afraid of being unemployed.

It's still a pretty long list, but if I live long enough, someday I won't have a list of things I'm afraid of at all.

Every six months, the dental hygienist proclaims her love for me and my beautiful teeth. It makes me feel really good. It's kind of like a biannual reaffirmation that I'm on the right track, not just with my oral hygiene, but with my life.

And as contradictory as this may sound, my application for unemployment was approved today. Thumbs up.

My worst check-ups have come during the worst parts of my life. The dentist knows!

Usually, he knows that I've been drinking too much cheap red wine, the kind that stains your teeth from all the citric and tartaric acid additives.

check these out

wee kiddie hats (aww)

My daddy made me a ball-winder for my birthday, out of lovely birchwood. It's essentially a wooden base with two crossed arms. The arms have pegs in them to hold the hank of yarn, and then they spin as you pull. Now I can start on winding all of my loose hanks of yarn into center-pull balls.

All of that was most likely really boring...

Last night I had a dream that I worked on a rodeo spaceship, making new umbrellas for the midget hookers. I'm going to take that as a good omen for my impending job search.

Hey Keri! I'm still around. Got sucked into punkas.com after the move to Auckland, so don't really post on nzmusic anymore.

Oh, my mum taught me to knit a few months back, but didn't teach me how to cast off, so now I have a scarf I can't wear. frown Haha.

I had a thoroughly pleasant weekend. I dyed a whole bunch of yarn with moongirl, made some mittens, and went out for schweinhaxe and German beer with my dad.

I also made a deal with myself. I am allowed to not do (and not feel guilty about not doing) certain things I really don't want to do, but in return I am requiring myself...

I've been up most of the night, and now I have to go to work. Sometimes I wish my brain had an off switch.

Hi there, I got the hat and it's absolutely fantastic! I'll put a picture up probably in the near future.

Disregard any anti-knitting statements I may have just made elsewhere; I'm being sarcastic. I can't help it! If I don't release some sarcasm every now and then, I explode. It's like gas.

bleh. Good thing I'll soon be re-inundated with work and won't have much time for the 'net and its entanglements.

FRIDAY: Stayed up until the wee hours of the morning with my friend Chris, studying tax laws and pension plans.

SATURDAY: Dyed some yarn, went to the farmers market, made a roasted vegetable pizza while my sister was at work. Then when she was done, we ate the pizza, went out for ice cream, and she broke down my front door, Hulk-style.

SUNDAY: Went grocery...

All your hats are so cute!!!

It's actually going to be a tomato scarf...somebody requested it.

Do you spin, too?
twinkie:
I admit. I used to have a Pomeranian, and I'd pick up her hairwads and crochet little squares. I thought it was hilarious. It worked, too!

Spinning sounds fun, but definitely not a time/money investment I can make, either. Those handspuns are so awesome but just so darned expensive, too!
