The last day of school. All the credits are in, and the papers are corrected. Next Wednesday, ten of my little gangstas will be walking across our tiny lunchroom in a rented cap and gown, and I guarantee I'll cry just a little. Those are ten lives I touched, ten people who are just a little better off for having known me. Of all the things I've taught them, what I really hope they take with them is that at least one person in the world thinks they're really important and full of potential. I hope they know how much better off I am for knowing them, too.

The sun is shining, I have homemade lime liqueur and comic books, and even though my hair is done up like Jo from Facts of Life, I'm going to go spend some time outside basking in how fantastic my life is right now.
