should I buy him a fruit basket? well what then?
This is a testimony of how dramatic tattoo boys can be and a confused query for advice.
My town is crawling with artists, mediocre artists, and the one that I like to tattoo me HATES me.
He probably has reasons to hate me, I spend all my money on my kids and business and not getting my large pieces finished, which I know is frustrating.
We worked together for about five years, he moved from Wyoming to Washington with his family and really kicked ass making it work, I have always been in awe of his art abilities he always had the persistence to learn the newest and coolest thing, I had him start a cover up on my shoulders and had a bitch of a time trying to get it finished, it was like the universe was against me getting it done, every time I had the money scraped up he was off on a guest spot and by the time he was back I was swimming in bills.
then he gave us about three weeks notice that he was going to work with a local douche (no, really douche) since it would work better with his guest artist schedule. I went to that shop for some work and then got word that he was opening his own place and hiring on some local artists, I was really excited that he was staying local and had renewed hope to get my work done.
so his shop opened like four or five blocks from my work, at first whenever I stopped by it was closed, so then I called ahead a few times and he was in Cali so I decided to not worry about it for now.
Then he kicked me out of his myspace friends,m which tipped me off that I wasn't his fav person, so I went to the local tattoo convention and he seemed stoked to see me and then he realized who I was and was nasty and mean mugged me....what the fuck am I supposed to do, I have like eight hours of tattoo work before we're done, and we're two thirds of the way done.
So today I found out his shop guy was an old customer of my boss and when we told him we didn't want to hire him as our shop guy he went over there and said we were talking shit....my artist should know that's not true, I think I need to get out my "where's the beef?" t-shirt and clear it all up, I just don't want to walk out of there with a subliminal penis or worse in my tattoo.
have any of you had to deal with this kinda shit? how did you do it? did you finish with the same artist? cause that's important to me.-c
