Changing Jobs
Sometimes you have to go with your gut. I took the job at the Dark Horse Tavern. I had a lot of quite rational reasons to turn it down. I'm not keen on working so many hours. It's going to wreck havoc on my social life. Walking a mile every night down dark streets at three in the morning five nights a week isn't an appealing thought. Working nights is going to cut deep into Wyspurr and I's scrogging. I'm not sure when I'm going to sleep between watching Rachael from 6:30am to 2:30pm and working from 6pm to 3am...sleep is going to be limited to a couple two hour naps on days I work. Rationally thinking, it doesn't seem like a little extra money is worth severely disrupting our lives. I really want to do this, though, so I'm going to do it. At least for now.
The part that's really going to suck is the fact that this weekend I'll probably be working both my old job and my new job. That's going to be seventeen hours a day working Saturday and Sunday. I can't, in good conscience, quit on Einstein Bros without any notice. Not having a baker would leave them really screwed and while I hate the job I'm not going to leave the other employees in a lurch. It's the least I can do to work out this weekend so they have another week to find a new baker.
