stuzzy's Brewhouse Birthday
I've been such a booze mooch this weekend. It's great. Firstgeckogirl lured me out to Tijuana Garage on Friday with the promise of free beer and the associated imbibing from the pitcher of Midori margarita. That was nice. However, it doesn't hold a candle to last night. stuzzy invited people out to the Brewhouse Cafe to toast his birthday and it turned into a real fucking blast.
SGATLiens turned out in force. In addition to stuzzy and myself, there was the familiar faces of geckogirl, her husband, erlkonig, khrypt1c, wild_zero, GenghisX, ChimericalMe, and Jonas along with the new faces of photochic and a couple of her friends whose names I'm told were Elliot and Michelle. It was great drinking company and I got good and ripped on nonstop beer and shots (redheaded sluts...mmmm...) for four straight hours. Then stuzzy wouldn't let me contribute more than $12 to the hellaciously over $400 tab the group ran up, though I am damned certain that I took a much larger share of the booze than that.
So, all told this has turned out to be a rather awesome weekend, despite things sucking clammy moose testicles at work. I'm disappointed that I didn't make it out to the Redlight Cafe to see Five Day Drive. I just couldn't muster up a ride and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed being there alone even if I could have gotten there on my own. Thank goodness for the Brewhouse Cafe being a block from my apartment, otherwise I'd have missed out on that too.
In other news, I'm thinking about conforming and joining the ranks of the short haired people. I don't know, though. I really like my long hair. I'm just starting to worry that I'm the only person who really likes it and that to everyone else I just look like a throwback to the eighties. Long hair hasn't really been in style since grunge kicked metal off the airwaves and how long can I swim against the tide? Of all my male friends and aquaintances I can count the ones with hair anywhere near as long as mine on one hand. There's all kinds of good reasons to go short, from being able to get a better job to being easier to manage to being more fashionable and really the only thing in favor of keeping it is that it's just the way I like it. That begs the question of whether by keeping it long am I being true to myself or just being stupid?
