SPOILERS! (Click to view)

When my uncle (my dad's brother) died rather prematurely, his wife (my aunt) took their 16 year old son (my cousin) and went to live on a South American vanilla farm for six months. They came back tanned and happy, full of stories, and with a million pictures. They rescued a baby monkey! Why...

What did you make out of the monkey?
obd:
I'm sorry about your dog. That's always hard. Our old family dog died right after Christmas two or three years ago. Mom said she was more alert than she had been in monthes when My sister, brother and I were home.

But yay for vanilla ice cream. Feel better.

I'm done feeling sorry for myself.

Have I told you all how much I love my mother-in-law? She's seriously more wonderful than I ever could have hoped for. I got very, very lucky in that department.

Pretty lucky in the husband department, too. biggrin

I suddenly find myself with:

a 401k
a high yield savings account
life insurance

and

less money than I've had in my entire adult life.

I don't want to be a grown-up anymore.

That's awesome. How long of a drive? Where is it? Does it pay better than the other one? Have you started yet? How does Randy like his job?
snakeplissken:
So I talked to the landlords at the complex and applied today. The guy I talked to was really nice, and as it turns out he has relatives in the my hometown. I'll be surprised if I don't get the place.

I'm looking forward to teaching your old man how to make beer too.

Still tired.

And also currently homeless and unemployed!

Well, we'll be moving in to the new house Thursday, but I haven't heard anything on the job front, so I guess I'm officially a housewife.

I've begun looking for pads on craigslist. I have found some really cool duplexes and whatnot. Now I just need to come out and see them.
snakeplissken:
That may just be do-able, but I wouldn't want to impose. As for dinner it'll be on me. And I may get Randy drunk. I'm kind of planning on checking out places for a day or two, then going out and exploring. Probably check out Corvallis for a day or two, then the coast. Get a feel for the area.

snakeplissken:
Are you all moved and what-not? I'm planning my trip out to look for a pad as we speak. Probably the second week of July to avoid the holiday. I was going to drive out but with the cost of gas I can fly and rent a car for about the same and save a buttload of time in transit.

jerawyn:
Are you there yet?

The OC and I misses you something terrible frown

Question: How do you fit a funeral, an Irish wake, a visit from your sister, a going away party hosted by your coworkers, karaoke, a birthday party, and packing everything you own into boxes into one weekend?

Answer: I don't know, but I'm about to find out.
