I looked after my sisters cat recently, and I have to conclude that cleaning out a litter tray is never worthwhile. there agian, my sister's cat is a rescue cat, and expresses love/gratitude/boredom/hunger/most emotions through violence, so I might be unnecessarily jaded.

I'm telling you, as your old lady friend, who waited for the world to get better, or myself to be richer, but who has to admit that-- by the time those come, your eggs are too old and believe me, by that time, you don't have the energy to chase little ones around. You lose the naivety you need-- to not realize how overwhelming it could be. Not to mention having to take extra good care of one's self so that you won't die before your kid makes it to college. Take it from the wife of a man who spent his childhood and twenty's taking care of dying parents, who didn't have the opportunity to have his life, because they needed help.

Yeah, don't wait. If you never take another piece of advice from me, ever, please take this one. As far as home schooling--it's not that bad until the kid's in 7th grade anyway...until then you can get support from specialists and other parents who home school. That's what I'm going to do, if i get the chance.

I got schooled by a seventy year old man today. That's not completely surprising, because really, I'm the laziest person I know, but this guy could have outpaced most twenty year olds. He's a district sales manager at my new job, has retired once already and come back, and spends most of his weekdays traveling and seeing customers. I'm amazed.

Perhaps the basic filling could be added to a larger spring roll shell in addition to vegetable additions (cabbage, carrot, etc.) then baked instead of fried? Cut down on the fat from deep-frying, add vegetables, then serve with rice.

The Pacific Northwest is putting on a show tonight. I never thought I'd be so happy about rain, but after a week of record breaking heat, there's a fantastic thunder storm going on outside right now.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go snuggle in bed with my husband with the windows wide open and watch the lightning and listen to the rain.
