So Michael Jackson has died.

That guy was so far ahead of anyone else; understand me - ANYONE else in the music industry. He was a genius. Not only was his music on another level, his dance skill was off the chart, even groundbreaking - he literally invented the moonwalk, the lean and the robot.

I grew up to MJ. As a child, all the girls loved Kylie and Jason, and all the guys were cool followers of Michael Jackson, and his album Bad was a major influence on all of us. When my family moved to America for a year when I was 9, my dad allowed me to take one favourite album with me. I chose Bad.

There is no event bigger in the musical world, than a Michael Jackson concert. To see the man on stage, all noise hushed, performing Man in the mirror, the world would literally stop at that moment. I get more shivers down my spine watching video footage of that, then actually being at some concerts. All my life I wanted to be at an MJ concert, to see the magic for myself, to hear the man sing. It's so tragic that just before he came back to so many of his fans who waited their whole lives to see him, he passed away.

There is no new MJ in the wings. As I look at the entertainment industry for a new star, I see many good artists. Many great artists. But there is all of them as a collective, and way out in front is MJ. People compare him to Elvis, but personally I think he eclipses Elvis, easily. He is and was the number one entertainer in the music industry, and I think in my lifetime I will not see another artist as iconic.

Ladies and gentlemen, the king is dead.

There's really nothing to say. How do you deal with the loss of MJ? I mourn for all his albums I never got to hear; for all his new releases I'll never listen to. I would have done anything to get tickets for his concerts this summer. Privately I was seriously considering going to maybe as many as five of them. I was going to tell my grandchildren about the day I too, finally, saw the biggest star in the world in concert.

I am shocked. Saddened. Gutted.

You know the song that Paul McCartney ruined; "The Girl is Mine." The part where he says, "But we both cannot have her, so it's one or the other - and one day you'll discover... "

Definitely one of his shining moments, though I think Off the Wall is the best album he did.

The title track sounds like one of Rod Temperton's other songs with Heatwave, though better with Jackson on it.

It's shaken me. I'm still shaken. When you hear his songs you know there'lll never be anyone else like him.
