Wow. That takes a lot of courage and strength. A friend of mine recently completed her last stage of transition (mtf). It was interesting talking to her during the years of hormones, voice classes, and adjusting to being a female after so many years of being a male. (She's 41 and has wanted to do this since she was around 18 or 19.) It's a little hard for me to get used to the new name and pronouns, but I'm doing my best, and she understands.

The funniest day we had was when she called me up crying because she didn't understand the weird cravings, mood swings, and bloating the hormones caused every so often. I said, "Oh, honey! It means you really are a woman now!"
