So yesterday I woke up dreading going into work: mostly because I was tired and had been sick for the past week. I started my normal routine of getting ready for my day, which involved me going to wash my face and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw my face.
My face had swollen up.
Mostly around my eyes, leaving them to be slits, but the number one thing bouncing around in my head is: "I don't have to go to work." Second thing was, "I have to call my mom." My mom is in healthcare and knows all about that stuff but she was stumped because she knew as well as I did that I wasn't allergic to anything. And I didn't have a doctor at the moment, so I had to go to the emergency room. Big yay.
I had to call my friend to take me because there was no way I wanted to take the bus to the hospital in my condition, and after giving me Benadryl and steroids the doctors chalked it up to allergies. The swelling responded positively to the medication, so I guess I am allergic to something. I just don't know what.
