No work, Mr. Beef, wandering around with oak, coffee, writing a letter to an old friend, mimosas (thanks chiquita for planting the seed), a bit of Dick Dale, and a Fassbinder film.
Now that's what I call a good day!

"vamanos a luchar!" EL SUICIDO LOCO

Oh, the film was "Fox and His Friends," and it reaffirmed the fact that Fassbinder kicks ass.
I think tomorrow I'm...

It's official, I have a new job. Same employer, but new position. More money, more responsibility.....more fun?
We shall see.
I spoiled myself tonight by actually cooking a decent dinner for the first time in how long? Opened a couple of nice bottles of wine, a merlot and a Sauternes. Mmmmm.
The roomate and I are watching 24 hour party people. Fun fun stuff.
....and...

I seem to be starting a trend of updating my journal in the morning rather than at night. Hmmm...
Today I'm hungover, and I should be out the door already. Looks like I'll be a bit late.
Perhaps I should shut up and get going?

Somehow I managed to get up nice and early for work today, so I get to do the rare morning journal entry. This weekend has passed with little event.
My roomate doesn't want to take the place we looked at. I like it because it's nice and cheap, but he wants someplace "nicer." I'm afraid that nicer is going to mean more expensive, and that's...

I found an old blues song with my favorite instrument of all, the saw. It doesn't actually work as well as I'd have hoped, but it's nice to know that somebody tried it.
I'm trying to rearrange my room a bit so it's less cluttered and more pretty. Exciting stuff, I know, but if you don't want to know what I'm up to, why the...

The roomate and I had a look at an apartment today. Looks promising, says I. "....." says he.
I get to meet a girl tonght. I have no expectations whatever, so we'll see what happens.
It's storming outside, and I think I may have to go out and get soaked. Woo!

update:
The meeting went well. Having no expectations certainly makes it easy to just...

I was recently perusing the local Hobby Lobby, and saw an entire display of cocks. No, really. Every type of rooster they could muster (and hobby lobby does love their roosters) was on this display. Ceramic, rusty tin, wire, wood (...heh), stone, everything. It was amazing. I heart Hobby Lobby.

Just got back from Mr. Beef. Mmmm, Italian beef combo. I rode my bike there, which was fun except I had to be on obnoxious, busy streets for some of it. There's nothing quite like biking home on a hot day with a stomach full of Italian beef.

Quote of the day: "There's a fine line between generosity and cruelty."

Random fact: I have met...

Bowling night!
I was going to ride my bike to bowling tonight, but I found out that my dad had a motorcycle accident and broke his leg in four places. I think I'll take the bus now. Silly, yes...but what can you do?

...umm, yeah I guess that's all there is to say for now.

__________

Update: well, I ended up biking to bowling anyway....

Saw the Detroit Cobras tonight. The music was pretty good, but the witty banter in between songs was pretty obnoxious. The singer criticized the audience for not shaking their asses enough, and apparently felt the need to tell us that we need to do so to impress the other boys and girls so we could get laid tonight. Mind you, this wasn't something that was...

i was gonna go to that show.

last week i saw a homeless dude near maxwell street running all crazy with his hands cuppped over his crotch and turning back now and then to yell (expletives?) at a light pole.
wated:
The Detroit Cobras are amazing!!
(But admittedly I've never seen a live show of theirs...)

'Shout Bama Lama' is the best song about stealing chickens ever released though, and their version of it is great! biggrin
(I've even got 'Love, Life and Leaving' on vinyl... wink )

Went to see Stella tonight. Stood in line for an hour and a half. Saw an old friend but didn't get a chance to say hi (in retrospect it's probably best that way.) Show started very late, ended even later. Not much sleep tonight.
The show was alright, but not great.
Complain, complain...

Other than that, life has been on hold for the past week,...

just read about Stella, never heard of them but it looks interesting and it was right up the street.

I may have actually gone if I had know about it, but I glad I didn't now that I hear a review.
