Frank is many things: a truly amazing artist, a good man, son of a famous writer, continual presence at the Terlingua Chili Cookoff, a big influence on my life, and the artist from whose drawing my tattoo is taken. My sister and I lived next door to Frank and his wife in Dallas, late 80s. The Hood St. years, when I was just a sweet young thang.
My god I miss him.
His wife Ann Stautberg is also an artist, her work with handtinted photography is transcendental..... I miss her, too.
I hope I hear back from the email I sent. I want them back in my life.
I haven't been to a Chili Cookoff in years, not since right after my mother died. I'm thinking I oughtta go this year....
I need a good camping trip to plan.
