it's still hot. hot enough to have a nice cold beer be warm before i'm finished with it. and that's usually difficult to do, the way i knock them back.
that was the only real bummer about the show last night, was the oppressive heat. the girl and i met up with girl303 at the Bottle and managed to work ourselves into one of the cooling systems' sweet spots on the main floor, which made things much better.
opening bands were really quite good, with Danger Adventure trafficking in a Sea and Cake/Stereolab vein, and Coltrane Motion rocking their iBooks sounding about 85% LCD Soundsystem, 10% Soft Cell, and 5% Blues Traveller.
but Electrelane was miles above and was truly amazing. the fluidity of their playing instantly sucked me in and kept me swaying - i feel i understand 'axes' much better now, having seen them live. the songs build, stretch, contort, collapse, rise again. they looked like they loved having this music pour out of them, they were having so much fun... it rocked me in the way a good show should.
not to mention that i think i crushed harder on Mia Clarke than i have for any woman up on stage before... she was SO cute wringing such beautiful noise from her guitar.
so i was up late full of energy from the show, which resulted in sleeping incredibly late today. it was the right thing to do, and despite the heat, this weekend has been fantastic.
looking forward to seeing SGChicago out in force tomorrow to support Cat and her husband with hella fundraising beers... please come out to the Village Tap if you can!

the Tap was fun. i hope it raised some good $ for those guys...
i was tackled by fatigue and sickness the next day and to some degree, today. so no real update. i've pretty much been working or sleeping since the last one, anyway...
