my cat went a little insane tonight. he was on the kitchen table looking out the back window into the lawn, and was making those crazy noises kitties make when they're wigged out by something.
i couldn't see what he saw at all, but he got more and more agitated. it was some sort of 'ghost intruder' in the backyard, apparently, but he was serious.
he eventually turned away to jump off the table, but then ran into our other cat, and in the way that cats do in times like these, didn't recognize her as his friend - they skirmished roughly and briefly after a modicum of hisses and howls.
we broke it up, and when huxley tried to run upstairs after mouse, the girl tried to grab him. mistake. he lunged at her, scratching under her eye and totally freaking her out.
i found him after we kind of got her calmed down, and he was looking pretty shook. he felt bad. i made him hang out with us she took care of her wound. he got her pretty bad.
i went and found mouse upstairs, and found she'd sustained a small scratch on the same eye as the girl. she was already way over it, though, affecting a gangsta lean over the top stair.
my boy huxley only started to calm down for real a few hours later. he was really thrown by whatever that invisible thing in the backyard was. it's actually left me pretty edgy.
crazy animals. gotta love 'em.
