I hear ya, Sista!!! When I went on maternity leave with my first baby, I KNEW I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom... but I took the leave and let Hubby get used to the idea. We had no idea how we'd make it work, but before my leave was up, he came to me and said he couldn't imagine me going back to work and having to put the baby in childcare. So I quit my job. And I have never regretted it.
Both of my kids are in school now and I am still at home with them. I would like to start bringing in some income, but I am not going to kill myself at some random job that will take me away from my family and make me tired and cranky. I do volunteer a lot at the school and take an active role in their education.
And I agree that it is a CHOICE. I chose to stay home because I want to be the one who raises my babies... and because we were lucky to find a way to make that work for us. I am grateful for it everyday!
And, oh yes, you DO rule!!!!!
