so I got up early this morning and worked out. Yay, me!
Then, I made myself fried ham sausage and scrambled eggs.
To be fair, the sausage is leftover from my mom's less-than-healthful groceries. I blame her.
I went to the grocery store on the weekend and bought a bunch of healthy food, including some tofu stuff AND thin chicken breast slices and sirloin tip...

I thought I missed it, but Brokeback Mountain just opened here this weekend. Someone's got a date with a late sunday matinee.

Let me know what you think... it's on my list of movies to try to cram in before school starts. Dunno if that will happen or not...
I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night and I can't decide if I like it. The Danny Elfmanized songs are great. The oompaloompas are great. Tim Burton's characteristic dark flourishes made me smile. The casting of Charlie's family fits nicely with the book (which, btw, was the first book I ever read by myself when I was a kid). There's just something, something...

I don't think Burton's is for me; I like-a da old! I feel like Mel Stuart and Gene W did it the way I like.

I like Tim's version, but I have had a harder and harder time enjoying his movies as of late. Like when I saw Batman Begins.....damn, that film stomps the shit outta his old Batman movies. But I will admit this Willy Wonka film is good, just a little too much CG.
It's odd. I woke up this morning to an empty apartment and I feel sorta lonely. I think I got used to having my mom around. She left me the sweetest note, one of those communications that evoke happy-sad feelings. It's quiet. I cannot remember the last time I was in a quiet place. It seems for the past year I've been around others all...

I can imagine it would take some getting used to... but I'll bet you'll get more comfortable with it in no time...

Still the love/hate thing with the games, I see.
Quiet is good.

I had a big blowup on my mom and she's moving out in the next couple days, moving back to her house. I kept needling her to get an apartment because I don't think she should be living in her big rickety old house alone, but she kept hedging. It was doing neither one of us any good. I'm looking forward to being alone again,...

family stuff is awkward. But it sounds as if you should be living in her house, and she in your apartment. I don't know why.

So I got in superlate last night after my plane was delayed... and delayed... and delayed. Yeah, so my plane was late. Anyhow, in my gibbledness instead of setting my alarm on my usual 24 hour time, I set it on am and pm... I woke up this morning when I was supposed to start work, wondering why my alarm didn't ring. It was set...

Best to you and Mr S for 2006
I'm leaving in a few hours to visit surlyclown for 4 days. I'm looking forward to it in so many ways. I still haven't figured out what the hell I'm getting surly for xmas.
I've had a few ideas, but they all seem supercheesy. The most likely to make surly happy idea that I've come up with is also the least romantic: take surly to...

Indeed the Holidays are a sticky wicked.
I've been sorta floating these past few weeks: wallowing in my deepening WoW addiction, dealing with various messy guinea pig things, despairing in the increasing lack of daylight. On a positive note, I'm truly enjoying my pen and paper weekly game, AND I answered 50 letters to Santa at work.
I haven't got around to the 20 questions thing. I will think about it (honestly)....

Say what? I had no part of it.
The only thing I was guilty of was drinking heavilly and crashing in the guest room.
-I suppose I provided moral support of the drinking involved which inspired the call, but that's a fucking stretch, sister.

On Friday I got my mom to go to the doctor I went to two weeks ago. He changed her bp meds and now she's feeling a gazillion percent better, even after only two days. She's got a followup appointment this week, so it looks as if she might actually get the medical assistance she needs. Needless to say she's also much nicer to be...

Hardest Things to Do In This Existance:
-start flossing
-stop smoking
-give up WoW.
Sonicare's are the best! I've had one for about two years now. Dentists can fix the gum-line though. They do some freaking test and then do that magical dentist shit and make six hundred dollars poof from your bank account and your choppers and damn tops!

Hi!
thanks so much for the comment on my set, hon!
thanks so much for the comment on my set, hon!
so I'm at home for another family day: my mom's not feeling well today, compounded by stress from an issue that's making me wish I had power of attorney to simply deal with things and get them over with.
I went for a walk last night and bought some groceries. It was minus 15 fahrenheit with the windchill. The air was so clean and the...

I want to be in Canada, with you.
Actually, though, it's very chilly here too (not minus 15, but y'know, it's only l'il ol' England...): I was driving home tonight around 9pm and the streets were eerily deserted for a Saturday night, like it's just too cold for people to venture out...
I like the cold. Always reminds me of a line by Garrison Keiller talking about Minnesota:
'In the cold weather, the immune system sends a message to the brain saying: 'DIE!' and the brain replies: 'Hell no, we won't go!'

I read the article too. I left the car home to day and walked to school. was really nice. it's gonna be mild for a little while so I will continue to use feet instead of rubber and gas. Sounds like ur doing pretty good. Its nice to hear that.
