Today was so lovely and warm (read minus 8 celsius, 18 fahrenheit), that when I went out in a tshirt, sweatpants and rubber flipflops to throw out my garbage and recycling, I stood there for several minutes in the snow, basking in the warmth.
I had a fun day yesterday. I played my pen and paper game at my gm's place. My friend's character bit the dust in a rather dramatic fashion: internal organs pulverised. Somehow we managed to save his soul and bring him back. Long story and surprising as my gm is uncompromising on the death front.
After the game, an old player J, my other friend JA and I went out for thai. We sat around and caught up on each other's lives, drank a stout each and ate delicious food. It was one of those, "hey I feel happy" moments, which I tried to enjoy to the fullest.
Tonight I hung out with my friend D from work, again eating thai food. He's the one I said is like being around sunshine: positive and just generally laidback (he has a Bob Marley poster at his desk.) We talked about his romantic misadventures. He talked about his plans for 2005. He really wants to meet a nice french girl and settle down. I know he wants to have kids. I think he wants them to grow up in his family's french heritage.
I told him about things I'd like to do this coming year and my adoration of surlyclown. It was a great evening of conversation and food.
Then I spent several hours playing City of Heroes frenetically. I've realized that I'm a pretty antisocial player: not going out of my way to seek groups, and preferring to learn how things work by myself. I'm friendly enough if approached, but tend to lone wolf in games. In some ways, I'm like this in real life too. My ex used to call me "Alone Girl."
Maybe I should make one of my informal resolutions for 2005 to try and get out more. *ponders*
I know you've probably all heard this a million times of late, but anyone care to share their resolutions?

Uh, so you go on strike for a day or two, then go back to work, then go back on strike, then... I assume it's some sort of agreement to work under the old contract until the new one is completed. Down here, I think those are usually extended for a set period of time with no option for striking again until the end of the extension period. Or is that what you are up against?
I might have something.
