I'm aching all over. At least it's a physical ache, this time. *smiles*
I've signed up to be a member of our corporate dragon boat team. Tonight was our first practice.
If you're not familiar with a dragon boat, it's a 16 or so crew on a long boat with paddles and a dragon for a prow. There's a steerer at the back and a drummer who sets cadence at the front.
I thought I was moderately in shape. I thought wrong.
The paddling involves lifting the paddle really high above your head, leaning far forward with your hips until you're practically touching the back of the person in front of you, and slicing downwards into the water and pulling straight out of the water at your hip.
My elbow got clocked during the process. We all got soaked with muddy river water. I've discovered some sort of deep joint pain in my left hip. My lower back and shoulders feel like they're on fire.
I FEEL GREAT!
The coolest part was when we're practicing our synchronization and the steerer asked us to close our eyes and keep going. It felt like being part of an organism. It was lovely.
I'm feeling much better than I was. Thank you for all of your support.

I love you all.
