I've got that chorus going around my head at this early hour. It brings up intense memories linked to my father's death. It's a song which conjures his ghost. Long story. Perhaps K will tell it someday. He's got a journal on here now. It's nice to have him reading and writing around here.
It will be five years on May 4th since my father died. In a strange twist of fate, May 4th is also my new boy's birthday.
I want to write about my dad, but I will leave that until I've slept and can put my thoughts down coherently.
In other news, I may have sexually harassed the general manager during my interview, but I think I kicked ass. I'll find out how I did next week. If I didn't get it, at least I got to do the interview. It's great practice. I'm a little freaky in that I enjoy interviews. As I posted in someone's journal, whereelse do you get to talk about yourself for an hour and not have to pay for it?
Off to sleep. Long day today. I'm going to see Touching the Void with my sister. Tonight I have a party of sorts which I'm not wanting to go to. Nice people, but I'd rather go dance somewhere.
Later: I'm ditching on that hen party with the women I work with in favour of queer girl night at a local gay bar with Cindy and Sandra: margueritas and cheescake or beautiful women and ass-shaking? I think that's an easy decision to make.
I'm also going to somehow scrunch Eternal Sunshine in before the bar and after Touching the Void. Double movie pleasure.
Later Still: I just got back from Touching the Void. Oh my. Talk about a movie that faces the darkness and inspires without being insipid and clownish like most crappy movies out there. Please go see it.

Touching the Void
Ok quick turnaround and then out to Eternal Sunshine.
Later Later: Ok Eternal's not going to work out. Only one early showing left and this person is supposed to go with me has not gotten home yet. I guess I'll take a nap on the couch and try to get some energy to go dancing.
Oddly enough, I think I hurt my lower back arching and spasming yesterday.
early early: evening was not quite what I planned. I blew a lot of cash at this pretentious crappy fusion restaurant (friend's choice) which gave me a sore stomach. The bar was an older crowd, all paired off. The music was occasionally fun, some Bollywood remixes, but mostly horrible: Britney Spears, Celine Dion. Stuff you cannot dance to. So I proceeded to get the feeling I rarely get, but hate when I do. I felt lonely. I still do. BLEH.

Well, first that Point Counter Point thing.
"I tried to read Point Counterpoint 5 times I'd say."
Yeah, I don't blame you. I tried to shove that thing on several of my friends, and they reacted pretty badly to it. I was all up on my antisocial ways when I read It. I thought it was good fun. Ya know poking at all the socialites and cheering at their misery/false happiness. I'm such a nice guy.
The same thing happened to me with Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Everyone was telling me how good it was and I wanted to strangle them. I don't know what the F'n was so good, cause I couldn't finish the thing. I think it was the worst.
And that quote I used was the Modest Mouse. I think you should really really check them out. I'm always looking for new converts. I've created 2 new fans here on SG. Diehard, nonstop listening. It's true.
have yourself a fun filled adventure.
I haven't been reading much lately. Any good suggestions that might get me started again?
