so I got up early this morning and worked out. Yay, me!

Then, I made myself fried ham sausage and scrambled eggs. shocked To be fair, the sausage is leftover from my mom's less-than-healthful groceries. I blame her.

I went to the grocery store on the weekend and bought a bunch of healthy food, including some tofu stuff AND thin chicken breast slices and sirloin tip strips. I bagged them separately into 3-4oz bags and froze them. I figure when I get home exhausted from work, I'll just toss them on the grill and have them over salad. yay me?

I've also made a pact with myself to start drinking two large glasses of skim milk every day. I NEVER drink milk, and rarely eat cheese. I'm like a textbook possible osteoporosis candidate, so I figured I'd start taking care of it now.

Today I read a large article in the NY Times about the looming diabetes epidemic in NYC. Apparently one in 8 New Yorkers is diabetic now. Being that I'm overweight and sedentary, I don't want to join the ranks of diabetic North Americans. Wish me luck.
zolta:
I read that there is more calcium in vegies then milk and there are many issues with milk. I personally don't drink the stuff makes me fart. My mom who is 76 was told several years ago to increase her calcium intake or lift weights. She lifts weights, (like me can't drink milk) and eats veggies, she told me recently her doc. figures that she has added bone mass. She does that step thing. Holds a 10 lb. dumbbell in each hand and takes a lunging step forward. Does this every morning for 10 minutes. She also told me that this exercise works the butt muscles, she said I have an ass of steel a fair amount of info if you ask me. eeek

I read the article too. I left the car home to day and walked to school. was really nice. it's gonna be mild for a little while so I will continue to use feet instead of rubber and gas. Sounds like ur doing pretty good. Its nice to hear that. smile
