I just finished my therapy session. I had hoped not to cry, and I managed to make it about 15 minutes into the session before my eyes started dripping. I finished the session feeling utterly raw. I was supposed to go back to work afterwards, and I told my therapist as much. She's like, "You mean, back on the complaint line after this?" I called...

crying in thearapy is fine. crying in life is actually also fine. you seem to have a therapist that is quite directive and affirmative as he/she gives you hints on how he/she thinks. That IS great. I've done many years of therapy and i wish that, sometimes, i would have had a nice little tap on the back with a voice saying: yeah, well done, tiger smile

Well, its one for the money,

It feels so empty in my apartment now. I keep looking behind me expecting to see a nose, or two, poking out from under the sheet I have over one corner of the pen. I'm throwing out the pen this weekend. My vet agreed to take my old equipment, towels, etc to give to a shelter. I guess I'll give the food and such to...

At the end of May I had one of my rodent friends put down, Pig, the rambunctious guinea pig. Today I put his buddy Horse to sleep. In addition to his heart murmur, cataracts, and two broken lower teeth, he had lumps (possibly tumors) and a possible abscess. He was incredibly old. He was lonely too.

He was a great friend. Whenever you fed him,...

It's Father's Day. Father's Day usually brings me down. I'm feeling pretty good this year though. In the spirit of honouring parental figures, I'm going out with my mom for a movie and lunch. We're off to see Over the Hedge.

ps. I made a vow to try to find what makes me happy. It appears to be an ongoing process called Life. To that...

my guinea pig likes cold watermelon. I just have to be careful of the seeds. It's cute as hell watching him eat it. Poor man's airconditioning. robot

I wish I had some poor man's AC. I mean, we have central air and all, but it gets expensive leaving it on all the time. Summertime California heat is no joke though.

I woke this morning from a deep sleep before my alarm went off. I lay there for a moment then grunted and hauled myself out of bed.

In the shower I thought of other mornings. I thought of clear, sunny mornings of woodsmoke and wailing recorded music from the bazaar, wondering how I could skip 5th period math.... I thought of a crystalline bright morning...

I never got over the loss of my Mom.

When I speak of this to my friends I always get varying looks of doubt and distaste. Like they think there's something's wrong with that. Like they think something's wrong with me. There's two things that I can never bring myself to do under any circumstances... I can't fake happiness and I can't fake sadness. I see others able to do this effortlessly and I wonder if they have souls.

That made *me* miss your dad... He must have been a pretty great guy.

You probably all know I'm a gamer. I game pc. I game pen and paper. Yes, I am a nerd. surlyclown puts up with the friday night excited phonecalls where I tell him that my assassin broke into the imperial apartments... and so on. He really is a saint.

If any of you are remotely gamer-ish, you might find this cringeworthy AND funny. It's 12...

Ah LARPing. How I miss those days. Not really wink. VtM LARPers are the scariest. I love my RPG playing brothers and sister with all my heart, but they seem to not be able to let it go. Even more so than D&D LARPers. Maybe it's the fact that most VtM campaigns take place in moder settings, it's easier to forget it's a "game" that way. Witnessing one VtM LARPer too many almost made me sware off Anne Rice for life biggrin

I am addicted to rough sex, potato chips and music. I wonder if there's a 12 step program

does this all take place at once, I imagine the sex would be rough if it involved potato chips, and honey with that combo 12 steps doesn't even get you to denial hehe

potato chips huh, gotta try that, now what did I do with Kathleens number.......

Mmmm.... Salty snacks and Patti Smith! You have such good taste... smile

My first thought about the new SG was "Wow, this looks like Myspace." My second was, "They want me to pick out my Top 5 Friends?" surreal Apparently they give you a rotating batch of friends if you don't choose. I want you all to know that I didn't choose.

Aside from the blog calendar on the left, I'm not too enamoured with the newness. The...

Musical ability like me?

...

I said I played. I said music is my life. I said I need music to survive!!!

I never said I was any good at it... ooo aaa

WWOZ was the only thing that got me through the day driving trucks around NOLA. That and WRNO. "We are the Rock of New Orleans!" I'm so happy that WWOZ has a webcast. You have to check it out at different times. The DJs just play whatever they feel like. I think Sunday nights they usually do regge. Weekday mornings you can catch jazz roots. Friday nights is Blues and such.

P. S.

Just for the record the new layout sucks. I hope they realize this and change it back fast
