***UPDATED***
My almost year-end music list, in no particular order:
Grizzly Bear - Yellow House (Dreamy lullaby music)
Swan Lake - Beast Moans (Better than Wolf Parade, Frog Eyes AND Destroyer)
Fujiya & Miyagi - Transparent Things ("Photocopier" IS the best song of the year)
Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit (Seems like this came out in 2005)
Hot Chip - The Warning
Thom Yorke - The Eraser (Thom Yorke never disappoints)
Whitest Boy Alive - Dreams (Erlend Oye never disappoints, either)
Band of Horses - Everything All The Time ("The Funeral" may be the second best song of the year)
Lindstrm - It's A Feedelity Affair
Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors (weren't expecting that one were you; the last 2 songs are his best in years)
Brian Eno/David Byrne - My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts (reissues count!!!)
Schneider TM - Skoda Mluvit (like Hood, but better)
TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain (mildly disappointing in my book, but still makes the list)
Animal Collective - Feels (I know this came out at the end of 2005, but I didn't buy it until 2006; I'm cheating)
Albums that I wanted to buy and never got around, but if I had, they might very well have ended up on my year-end list (I'm not rich you know. Can't afford to buy every cd/record I want.)
Tom Waits - Orphans (Tom's always, always good)
Ellen Allien & Apparat - Orchestra Of Bubbles
Overrated (these albums are okay, but hardly worth the praise heaped upon them):
Joanna Newsome - Ys
The Hold Steady - Boys & Girls In America
Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon
Art Brut - Bang Bang Rock & Roll
