I stood on the platform in the dim orange shimmer of the street lights in the city I left so many years ago, in another life, a city that almost destroyed me, and almost couldn't help myself from crying.
I was home.
For all the heartbreak I have been through, I am glad I have done all my travels after all. If nothing else, they have forced me to explore who I am and where I belong, and it has helped me realize where my heart truly lies. Although I knew it even before I left Cork, and has known for a couple of months now, the full force of this truth hit me once again as I stepped off the train and looked out over the city where I took my first staggering steps into adulthood so many years ago.
I am home.
