I think I want to be a doctor someday.

Not a medical one, doofus.

That show Firefly (the one that was on Fox and got canceled) is REALLY awesome. I've been watching it on DVD for the past 2 days with FallFromGrace since he lives in my building and is unemployed like me.

Heh... Phinney Ridge is what separates Greenlake from ballard. The Zoo is on Phinney Ridge. Greenlake is generally considered to be the area immediately around the lake (and maybe a little to the south and east, before you get to Wallingford and U-dist/Ravenna).
tjaden:
I don't know if I really ever claimed I was from Ballard... though it definitely was my tromping grounds. I had the distinction (snobbery?) of living right on the border between the two neighborhoods (depending on who you talk to, either 8th or 3rd... I was on the Phinney side of 3rd).

Besides, what you got to say about it? Huh? Mr. Transplant... tongue

So I think I've pretty much decided that I'm going to University of Washington eventually. I'll probably start next fall or summer. I kinda wanted to go to the Cornish art college, but I really don't have enough of a fine arts background to apply there. They haverequirements for writing critical art essays as part of the entry portfolio, I can't really do that. Plus...

Unfortunately, as much as a regional group whore that I am, I'm not in SGSeattle. But I'll look into it when I get closer to the dates and have solid plans, for sure.

I'm back from my sans-internet hiatus, and boy is my hair red. Now that I have the 'net I can get started on my job search. I've been relaxing for the past couple days, and getting used to the idea of not having anyone to answer to. It's a very strange feeling. The whole thing feels like a weird dream. It's good to be back...

Yeah! But most people don't consider it a job and I haven't been too productive the past couple weeks

I'm so glad you took my suggestion to fuck up your hair. Looks cool.

I can't say that I've ever been this happy about being unemployed in my entire life. I feel so relieved now. I should be getting net sometime in the middle of next week.

Super. You should check the boards.. there was a "I'm getting out of the military" thread in lifestyle very recently.

So should I send you an address where you can get all those silly uniforms off your hands? wink
chuckg:
That's excellent news..

Did you decide to not take the crane job?

So I got a job offer today from some crane-related company. Apparently they want me to fix and put up the electrical parts on cranes (because that's kinda what I can do). It starts out at $55k-$65k a year with medical and 401k. The offer said "ability to handle heights of 200'+ required". I could really use that much money, but I'm fairly scared of...

You could always request a parachute as part of your compensation package. wink

For that money? Yeah you should definately get over your fear. I know it's easier said then done, but you have a hell of an incentive there.

Asshole wink

You know how in Tetris you sometimes set up the block just perfect, bring it down, and it totally lands in the wrong place? That's kinda what today was like. With the military being the block, and finding out I'm getting out in like one week being the wrong place. It really sucks that I have such short notice for when I'm actually getting out...

I'm going to be out of my apartment by the end of the day. You probably won't hear from me much until I get the internet at my new place. My new place kicks so much more ass than the place I'm at now. I can't think of a good sentence to end this paragraph with that doesn't make me look like I have ADD...

The ability of human beings to be extraordinarily fucked up towards one another knows no bounds.

It's really not hard to not treat people like shit. Seriously. It's even easier to not treat your friends like shit.

Try being nice to someone. You'll be amazed how good you feel after helping someone else out. Even if it's just to say hi and ask how they...

Hey look, I finally updated. I was gonna do it earlier but you guys just kept commenting in that last one. I don't have anything really good to say, but I'll try to think up something to replace that last one. I promise.

Know what I hate? When I go through the painstaking effort of thinking up a hillairious message to leave on someone's voice mailbox, actually leave the message, and they call me and tell me that they didn't listen to my hillairious message at all, and they deleted it. It pisses me off even more when I leave 6 of them in a row. That's like...

The first time I tried to leave a funny message for a friend, they answered the phone. That was the end of my funny-message-leaving career. frown Be glad you still have the will to try.
oomatter:
You should record them yourself as well. That way, when they tell you they just deleted it you can be like, "Ha! I outsmarted you! Listen to this!" and then you play it for them.

Loudly

over and over and over

then next time they'll think twice before deleting your creative efforts
