Well.
That didn't go terribly well.
Trying to explain to the heads of the course that the stuff in my portfolio is stuff I made because I wanted to, and not for a school project with a definite brief and aim is pretty fucking difficult. It seems as if neither of of them had dealt with a mature student before - and didn't really want to.
I mean, they didnt even rifle through all of my portfolio or ask what my relevant skills to the course are!
I'll find out next week by letter If I'm in or not. Looks fairly fucking unlikely.
EDIT:
Actually...thinking back to what was actually said, and what I did divulge, I didn't do all that badly. I think it should be quite clear to them that I need to educated in how to analyse what I've made, and what purpose it serves - because at the moment all my work is stuff I've done for my own amusement, or photo's for suicidegirls.
So yeah, there's no point in damning it all to hell just yet. I guess I threw them becuase mine is not a usual portfolio straight from an A Level design class, and they threw me because I expected them to ask me more stuff about myself and my intentions.
So then...you never know.
Oh, and thanks a million to all you kind souls that have said nice things about the graphics I made, It really helped me out. And a special thankyou to Hologram who chatted to me about presentation and stuff. You guys rock!
