** UPDATED **
So yeah... it's been awhile.
Oni and I went to Chicago this weekend. Twas quite eventful.
We started VERY early on Saturday morning. We stopped in one of those little diners in a hicktown with the ugly brown chairs where everything is cheap... you know the kind?
They had a sign that said,
"Buscuits
and Gravy
Drink
$2.25"
Now, I think we all know what they meant, but it was still quite amusing.
We made it to Michigan City, where the Sand Dunes are, and we set up our capsite, then continued on the road to Chicago. We went to the Art museum, the Contemporary Museum of Art, and a few shopping places. In Neiman Marcus we saw a watch for $420,000.00!! No gold, silver, or diamonds... just an ugly watch. At that point I left.
We made it back to our campsite, slept, got up, then again ate at one of those brown chair-ed cheap places. I was hungy. I got an order of french toast, 2 scrambled eggs, and an order of home fries, but it wasn't enough... so I had another order of french toast. We then tore down the tent, and went to Mt. Baldy... twas beautiful. Hiked around there a bit, then decided to go hike more at Cowles' Bog. I didn't really feel like it, so we decided that we'd go to walmart, get swimming stuff, and go swimming. By the time we did that, all the parking lots at all the beaches were full. So, ironically, we decided to hike at Cowles' Bog to get to the beach at the end of the trail.
Part Two:
Well, we took the wrong trail, and it dumped us out on a road... mind you, there is no road in the bog, and not really near the bog either. Luckily, it was a road that we knew. A beach wasn't far away... it was one of the ones that we visted yet the parking was full. Being on foot, we headed to the beach. Once there, we were a bit relieved.... Finally, we were there!... Get in.... COOLLLLLLLLDDDD. Talk about fucking annoying. We go through all this bullshit - buying suits, hunting for a beach, then hiking through a horrible trail only to be lead someplace we weren't supposed to be, for the water to be cold!!!! GER! We decided to take the roads back to our car rather than the trail. It was a greater distance, but at least I wouldn't have gnats in my eyes.
But that trip seems in the distant past.
I am not sitting here on Oni's computer. She's at work. I should be, but I have fucking strep. I am not happy about this. I need money, yet I definetly don't feel like going to work.
My latest project, my 30 gallon aquarium is pretty much done. I wanted Black Veiled Angelfish, a rather uncomon variety. I had to search long and hard. I called probably 100 stores in Ohio... all those within 50 miles of Findlay, Toledo, Columbus, Athens... until I looked at Detroit... and amazingly, I found a store that had them! So I went all the way to Detroit to get these beautys, and they are worth it! SOOOO beautiful. Here is a generic pic. My fish look very similar to this. Absolutley gorgeous, IMO.
Hope all is well! I hope to see many of you on Saturday... Until then, tootles!

I used to go to those hicktown diners all the time. Ahh the humor in it! Sounds like you've been having a wonderful time sweetie. Keep enjoying yourself.

I know what you mean about the Neiman Marcus thing. I've seen some hideous items for sale (furniture especially) that are ridiculously priced. I mean, someone would actually BUY something like this??
