Almost crashed in L.A. last night, but didn't want to awaken any of the early-risers ... and was craving my bed. Fell asleep listening to Miles Davis on my minipod. Woke up to blissful sunshine in the attic room, finally grateful again to live where I live. And undoubtedly glad that I now have a job where waking up at 11 isn't a problem.

Today's my first day at the new job. I'm wearing a fur coat, a T-shirt that says "thank you thank you thank you thank you have a nice day" on it, and no make-up. I got in at 11:30. There are other cool things about the job too, I'm sure, but today, those two are good enough.
