This week: re-read Robert Holdstock's "Lavondyss," second and (in my opinion) best book in the "Mythago Woods" cycle. In the first book, the "myth" was exposed, somehow, lenghtier than necessary... this one keeps a perfect balance between mythic aspects, action and emotion... or so I felt. And it's also a book dealing cleverly about how a teenager builds her own self, and learns where and...

Badalamenti?! That's awesome! I didn't mean for the story to be a radio play but wow.. I could see how it works.

Which score were you listening too?

They have surgery techniques nowadays that can remove trepanning scars. wink

Namedropping is a must in SG journals...
After mentioning Morgan, the merriest SG of them all, and Dave, of Hollywoodian fame, today I'll drop with affected thoughtlessness:
Isn't ratsonjulia's journal the best journal here....? (ok, Dave, let's say one among the very best)

Yeah, Ratsonjulia kicks ass. smile

Ok, I see some of the lines of where the Werehampster originates. But he has no goatee? What gives?!

Word, Dave, last week was a fun week of hampsterness indeed... but hampsterness isn't for ever. Only Morgans are for ever.

Pomogranite stains are forever.

The ride up the elevator in my office in the morning after I have had too much coffee and really need to pee.... yup, thats forever too!!!!

I wish macaroni art was forever... but alas...

Word, Dave, last week was a fun week of hampsterness indeed... busy week ahead, it's probably time to morph into a beaver and be eager.

Again, "daylight licked me into shape"... so, I'm not a werecreature anymore. Or so it seems.... it seems, as well, I have to bid farewell to my planned sideshow career. Strangely enough, I'm still feeling the urge for doing small hamsterlike leaps when listening to some certain tapes...

I do hamsterlike leaps all the time, I think they are good for ones health.
a35mmlife:
such a face. such a face.

ok so the career is a bust. perhaps a hobbie then? you know what they say, once a hampster always a hampster.

Interesting.... of all the ideas that I recently submitted to people I know, none had as much success, none was so unanimously approved as the one that crossed my mind last evening and I posted in this journal: starting a career as a Singing Hamster...

indeed, I see the problems with the short arms. have you submitted the idea as a career path for yourself, or as a storytellin concept, because you'd better scoot to the copyright office before I make the animated series ofr children's book.

If I don't turn back completely to human, I wonder if I could make a living as The Singing Werehamster...

Oh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
I'm frightened by the devil
And I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid
I remember that time you told me, you said,
"Love is touching souls"
Surely you touched mine
'Cause...

I don't think you've really thought this thru, my friend. sure, being the Singing Were-hamster might be fun for a while--traveling the world, bringing joy to people's dismal little lives, snogging fuzzy little groupies, trashing hotel rooms (or at least nibbling on the bedspreads)--but I don't want to see you on VH-1's "Behind the Music" someday saying things like: "I had me a solid gold exercise wheel & I traded it for just ONE MORE HIT of kibble...just freakin' TRADED IT AWAY, man!" or "& there was this time, man, when we were staying at the Marriot & I was so loaded on kibble that I thought it'd be a great idea to push the piano into the pool, but I have these teeny little hamster arms & it took, like, a week & a half..."

actually, that'd be kind of cool. go for it!
rawr_ima_monster:
where an I purcahse a folk-singing werehampster?
-are you a human sized hampster, or just a medium sized furry person? yping as a hampster would be frustrating and slow.

Slowly (more slowly than I expected) turning back to human form...
Still have pulsions for looking in the yellow pages for the "non-existent" rubric.
Another strange symptom: can't stop playing Nick Drake's "River Man" on my tape player.

You said a very nice thing a while back and I never responded, I don't think.

The news media suck, indeed. I'm surprised to hear that your news didn't cover the Wellstone death (murder?), though I can't say that our news organizations would be so kind if any of your politicians got axed...

Speaking of which, who are some of the good ones over there? Got any favorites? The Least Corrupt?

Always feeling bouncy.... but I'm slowly (more slowly than I expected) turning back to human form...
at least, this craving for wood chewing has disappeared. Nearly.

Today morning I found the nicest surprise (i mean, the NICEST) in my mailbox... Hooray for surprises! (the person responsible for this surprise will read more about it soon...)
However, it made me so excited I'm afraid it will take time for me turning back to normal... us werehamsters are such sensible creatures!

That is an excellent suggestion for a question *rushes away to write it down*

I always get so happy seeing your posts on my journal!

a_indeed I understand. since then, as you could see from the other entries, is has started to pour, as soon as it started to rain. tomorrow I will be waitign and waiting to see if a place gets back to me because things seemed oh so promising, and I've got like all this crap to think abotu now...upsa nd down and high ups and low downs. hence is creativity and being a pisces.
b_arizona was neat, it was a nice drive to make by myself, would've been cooler if I wasn't sick. the festival itself was kind of an "eh.", for wierd reasons, but the town was nice and I slept oh so well in the hotel room being so sick and tired, plus I got to mess up my stressed sick throat by singing along to my punk rock to keep yay (frog voice)
c_I'm frightened that that claim of somethingsomethignitis is an actual disease that you for some reason know waty too much abotu and might actually invovle hampsters.
-I don't want ot know.
