First they removed summer and replaced it with fall.... then on Monday they removed the 8 in my "age" window and replaced it with a 9....
I wonder what it all means.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

i made it through the hurricane unscathed, and i'm sure your well wishes helped in that smile
bunkdose:
No.. I wasnt a part of that castle scene. yikes. I went rogue from the strict traditional code of servitude. I can think for myself and serve honor before a master. Although, I have to say.. work is necessary. I will glady serve an employer if the coin is good and the cause is just. I'm thinking mercenary work..or even bodyguard jobs for the local kind hearted mechants. I will serve that type loyally to my very end. No more tin god shoguns for me.
wink

Thank you for the birthday greeting. It made my day. I see you havent been online for a spell. You've had alot to do.. busy, eh? I just hope all the events keeping you away were not negative in nature. I wish you well. Take is easy.. and thanks again.

Last week they removed summer without warning and replaced it with some fall, complete with cold rain and storms.

I spent most of time far away from internet and its fabulous online communities for most of the last days, and I was so busy I didn't even thought of something poetry-related to post on Wednesday.... rendez-vous next Wednesday for more poetic postings?

A little time off once in a while is very pleasant. Sounds like you should have a holiday being busy like that smile

I'd love to hear even more poetry from you Tororo. I am fond of that last one. Do you know of any with an Autumn theme..? I have a love affair with that season. A poem celebrating it would be a treat.

Poetry day!
As I proved several times being unable to write a single verse worth reading (neither in English nor in French), I'll post a poem I love. It's by Giacomo Leopardi (from Il Zibaldone).

As I have a fondness for the French prose translation done by poet Ren Char, I'll post it too... for benefit of hypothetic french-reading visitors!

I also have found an...

I ran both the Italian & French versions thru the machine--the Italian version was, well, still mostly in Italian, but the French one went thru okay, altho not quite as elegant as the (uncredited) version you've included:

The infinity

Still pleased me this hill so only and this hedge that, by so many lengths, steal the horizon.
But when I sit down to look at it, by my thought create themselves beyond her of interminable spaces, of the silences surhmains, a very deep peace; where almost my heart is afraid. And when I hear wind to murmur in the plants, I go comparing the infinity of this silence to this voice, and remember of the eternal, the dead seasons, and the one present and living, and of his/her/its swish. So in this immensity is annihilated my thought: and naufrager I am soft in this sea.

dame_doom:
oh, i bet you say that to all the girls! wink

Today's Tororo Fun Fact:
the latest update in my profile was inspired by a recent entry in ratsonjulia's journal... Guess?
reinhardt:
wow - reservoir dogs fish names is a very good idea. it's oddly turning out that the pink guy is the boss of the tank, so there could be some cool movie character/fish personality correlation.

i agree about the tattoo thing. i mean a small tattoo is hardly as cool as a platinum tooth, but i have to start somewhere smile

Hot Europe Grows Hotter, the New York Times says.
They sure know how to write headlines. It sums up perfectly what's presently happening here.

The northern skyline is blurred with something grayish that looks a bit like mist, only darker. Everytime a door or a window is opened, the pungent stench breaks in. There are remnants of the smell of resin in it, but judging from its bitterness a great many things are burning together and not only pines this time.

"Baldric! The Yanks, even that daft Bush fellow who is about as stupid as two very stupid things put into a small box & artfully commingled, thus increasing their stupidity exponentialy, will never fall for this dosh about Weapons of Mass Destruction & Nigerian Plutonium..."

Last time I updated my journal was for sharing with you all folks important informations about the weather...
I did tell you the heat had become, for the fist day in a long row, somehow bearable. Forget it, it's again exactly as hot now as it was before..

Nice to see you didn't disappear. That would have made me crawl into a corner and cry.

But now instead I leap for joy!

Good day Sir! Welcome back.

Today was the first day in two months the heat has been somehow bearable.

Hum.

That's not much of an update.
Once again I'll call the ooo aaa to fill some of the empty space; so far it has proven a really efficient auxiliary.

Some days ago was celebrated Saint Eugne's feast, and my father got some new presents.... (yes, my father's first name is Eugne; no, he's not from Oregon)... among these was a bottle Matusalem brand Cuban rum. I opened it for him, and we exchanged totally predictable jokes you imagine easily....
A moment later the radio published Compay Segundo died and there was a pause in...
