Had an interesting day, interesting if you like doing the waste lines for a two story house...

one thing about architectural engineers, they suck.. they should have to work in the field for a year or two, just to see the issues that come up when their plans are being used... just a gripe, but it really is annoying, making me work and all, how dare they. anyway one must overcome these things...

besides that my week went well, a little bit less production than i might have hoped, but its tough working in between joists.. and cutting headers out, etc.. that's why i'm glad i get paid by the hour.

my girlfriend's sister recently went vegan and that makes me think about genetically engineered foods, personally i eat flesh and don't mind the conditions that animal lived in before its death, granted they suck, but i'm pretty lazy so changing my lifestyle isn't something i'm gonna do anytime soon. and it'll probably be too late by the time i do. i strayed with the whole meat-thing, but i wanted to get that aspect of my opinion out of the way.. back to gmf's(or whatever the GMx acronym is) I don't understand why people get so upset about GMFs and why europe has banned them, every gene codes for a protein which are just amino acids, the bonds are cleaved in the stomach anyway, so what does it matter? anyway i just realized that i really don't want to get into it.... so many arguement get re-used and i just feel my way about it, competition blah blah blah... buy organic, get more bugs, less food, and pay more...

ok, starting to ramble, time to change the water and maybe get some icecubes... bye bye

edit: sounds like we got one.. don't mean to ruffle any feathers, just my experience is that they don't really spec things out the way i as a plumber would prefer them.. i mean when you have a second story house and have a toilet on the second floor, you have to get 3" pipe up there, and 3" is the ID so, hub thickness is more than 3.5" and hence don't fit in a 2x4 wall which is usually all we are given, they should be a 2x6 and it would make life much easier. another aspect is glue lams and their locations around the structure in relation to making a fixtures' vent pipes able to go up out through the walls on a second story. usually we can make it work, but it requires some hacking and for the inspecters to understand our dilemmas... those are the example from the most recent house i'm at.. now some do go smooth, but i always hear at least one sub bitching about something or the other, 'cause as you know 'we could do it better ourselves' or so we think... again, just my opinion, i'm sure the arch is a nice guy/girl... but.... i gotta deal with their lack of experience. these plans also described a 3" drain for the laundry on the second floor, and the laundry room wall (2x6) is directly above a 4x10/8 glue lam. now i know laundry needs 2", but 3? must be a mistake... i listen to what my boss says when shit like that comes up. so back to this laundry, i barely was able to get 2" in the wall, much less 3"..

oh my! it's like erotica for nerds!
*breaks out _geometric and engineering drawing, second edition_ in order to "finish what you started".

p.s. don't take smack at work. i will now insert a winking smiley face here [x] to indicate that you were only talking smack and thus can validate my own terrible pun. or if not a pun, a "clever" adding/subtraction of letters.
