Thank you all for your comments, I'll probably put up some more pictures in honor of that.
Also, I thought I'd share a bit of "Toni-lore" with you.
How did I get called Toni Gnosis, and is it from Hedwig? Sorta. Kinda. Eventually, yes.
I had a friend in California who was a student of Greek mythology, and she talked about the concept of Gnosis(divined knowledge) every once in awhile. Because I seem to be a wealth of useless trivia and "knowledge" she started calling me that. This was before Hedwig(movie) came out, but I had heard of the play.
I went and saw the movie. It literally changed my life. I used to have website called(oddly enough) Hedwig Saved My Life! I started that in September of 2002, and little by little the site started getting known among the Hedwig fan base(HedHeads). My brother's boyfriend said I bore a strong resemblance to John Cameron Mitchell, and that he thought I should dress up as Hedwig sometime, just for the hell of it. I did, and went around to some bars. Everybody went nuts, and a couple people thought that I was John. Ha.
I started calling myself Toni Gnosis, and was asked to host a couple of midnight screenings in Commerce and Dallas, Texas. Blah blah blah.
I went to the Hedwig Fan Convention in Toronto Canada in August, of 2003, where I finally met John Cameron Mitchell. I told him who I was, and he said "Of, your'e the one with the website!" He gave me a big hug, and then we talked about me someday putting together a production in Dallas. Not knowing that I was already calling myself the name, John named me Toni Gnosis that night.
Here we are, three years latter, and Hedwig is still part of my life. I've appeared in a couple of parades and things every once in awhile, but mostly the wig is on the shelf. Someday it will no doubt be placed upon my tiny head again.
Don't you know me Suicide Girls? I'm the Berlin Wall baby, try and tear me down...... +:-)
