Wikipedia says:

The Peace Sign, or V sign is a hand gesture in which the first
and second fingers are raised and parted, whilst the remaining
fingers are clenched, palm facing outwards. Originally con-
sidered a "Victory" sign (for V as in victory), it also is used to
mean "Peace", a meaning that became popular in the United
States during the peace movement of the 1960s.

If the "peace sign" is really meant to symbolize peace, then why is it that some people look so unbelievably stupid when they use it? Trust me, I know how bad I sound in saying this, but it's true! Think about itif they wanted to make a sign that meant such a good thing, they should pick something that people don't look stupid using. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying EVERYONE looks stupid with two fingers raised in the air, but personally, I can't pull it off.

I have friends who use the peace sign more than they would use a wave, and they pull it off. I also have family members who try to use it but look so awkward and unsure of how to really do it, that it just ruins the whole meaning.

I don't know where I'm going with this blog really, I just know that I find myself judging people on using the peace sign, and thought I'd open the topic up for discussion. And from here on out, if you use it, use it well and often, because it really is a wonderful sign. But don't expect to ever see me use it, because I know for a fact I look like a dumbass.
