Man, it never rains, but it pours. My dad had a (second) stroke last Tuesday. He's in hospital now, barely conscious, hardly recognisable as the same Dad his children know (age, gravity and the stroke must be doing that). The stroke has been major, a good chunk of his brain has been killed off, the doctors say he won't recover to conscious health again, to a decent quality of life. We would like him to die now, he's 86, he can go and join my Mum. But the awful thing is that strokes don't always kill you (unless the respiratory part of your brain is affected), so we are all waiting for something else to do this - something like pneumonia. It is truly horrible watching this process and not really being able to do anything than comfort him.

Meanwhile, life goes on - the cat had a kitten, much to my daughters delight. Its a good thing she only had one kitten as my daughter is hoping to keep it, I didn't want to have to find homes for 4 or 5 other kittens.
