dang, when i said i wanted to be busy...i didn't think i would be this busy. ain't complaining though...busy es bueno.
been a hella fun week of shooting - Brooklyn, Twinkie and llona all make my gig easy. and very nice getting to meet and hang out with ms. twinkiechan!
just got back from chicago for wizard: Wizard World Photo Gallery. nice seeing lotusmonger, ohjaeflo and former SG Opehila out in rosemont.
got invited to shoot the Gotham Girls Roller Derby July Bout - images here: Steve's GGRD Bout gallery...love shooting in the new space..hate the blue floor.
crap - it has been awhile since i updated, huh? 4 sets went up...some of my recent favs...yay! as always, if you haven't left any comments for the girls...do it! it's a nice thing.
Elly-Dark Roast
- combining 2 of my favorite things...coffee and green backgrounds...no, seriously - this was the best set to shoot EVER! the smell of coffee was amazing. screw incense and candles, give me good 3 point lighitng and fresh coffee beans.
- 9 lbs of coffee were used for this set. we could have used another 10lbs
- shot in the same space as clementine's debut set.
- very little coffee was wasted for this set, we poured it back into the bags and split it up. we figured once it is ground up and boiling water is run thru it...how ick can it be? lord knows where it has been before Elly started rolling in it.

Diamond - Dirty Denist
- shot in the backroom of Norristown Tattoo in Norristown, PA. Thanks to Shane Munce for the hospitality!
- makeup by diamond, supervised by girlie while getting her sockmoney tattoo finished.
- assisted by anteros
- i have no idea why it's called "dirty denist". but that was a fun room to shoot in...except for the fact it was about 100 degrees and very little space to shoot. diamond rose to the occasion and got shit done! looking forward to working with her again.
Kyra-Pink
- one of my favorite members of the boston crew...hell, i would be hard pressed to decide between boston, philly or nyc as my fav place to shoot. i am happy that i get to shoot as much as i do in cool places with cool people.
- shot in the same building as the scarlett set..the same building that lexie and palo used to live (acutally the empty apartment downstairs. unlocked with running water and power! go figure.
- second time i have shot kyra. the first set was rejected. i hope she posts it at some point. it was fun.
- getting her up on the shelf was fun. i have to post the outtakes of anteros lifting her up.
- there was a street fight going on outside during this set.
- the location was decided 5min before driving out to the middle of nowhere and shooting outside. thx to lexie for suggesting it!
- while kyra was naked and in model mode...we grabbed a couple shots to scare the neighbors out on the balcony:
Autumn - Puddle Jump
- autumn was one of the first sg's i met when i joined and talked about shooting for over 2 years now.
- i think i have worked with autumn more than any other sg other than twwly and amina.
- shot on the roof and of course...PAM was involved. sorta similar lighting to the brooklyn alley shots, but different looking enough (one more light in the back and different type as backlight)
travelling a lot in coming weeks - if you need sets shot and i am in your town...hit me up!:
- New Hampshire tommorrow to shoot with scarlett and the rest of the NH SG's
- Rhode Island next week for Suicide Saturday with Bailey - Aug 26-27
- Philly on labor day to shoot with Alexis, Ember and Maxi (and get my ymonster forearm piece started on that monday - yay! yay!)
- Boston Tattoo Con with fractal - sept 8-10
- toronto trip to shoot twwly before the baby comes and cover some of the Toronto SGs - Sept 16-18th
- Chicago - sept 23-27th (get to finish my cornink forearm piece..yay!)
- southern florida oct 19-20
- Dallas - nov 2-5 for wizard
- LA - sometime in Dec.
dang...i am busy. well...yay! thanks again for all the kind words on the sets lately... oh! there is some new talent showing up at sg lately - tex did a great job with the chanel set this week, cymagen has been killing it lately with the sash sets and the new riot set, sawa just rocks bells everytime one of her sets goes up - the vanity set today was smoking, got to see some of james work from behind the camera yesterday and dang! she's gonna be a monster, charlie is turning in some fun sets - calamity's was rocking.
