What a difference a week makes,

7 days, 168 hours,..... but he really cant be bothered to work out the minutes or the seconds.

Out of sheer bordom at the works pc system deciding to be fully uncooperative during the early part of last week and therefore rendering him temporarily useless, he decided to dig up his past on the world wide web.

It was all rather enlightening,

He found one of his songs had appeared on a compilation album released last year which celebrated some of Factory records lesser know acts.
Another song had been released on a U.S. "Goth / Industrial" compilation some years ago. He would like to point out he treats that musical label with the utmost disdain. He's never had any involvement with Gothism or Industrial music,........EVER !
He found a Japanese promo copy of his album released on 4ad onsale on e-bay in Japan. He had never known it had seen the light of day in Japan.
He found one of his songs had been aired several times in the U.S. on various college radio stations last year and most recently in January of this year.
He also found the following description of the said song on another site,.....
" One of the most unknown of the Factory records story whilst simultaneously being one of the best, at least in the electro punk scene. " ? ? " is an exciting, edgy and sexy deep dance floor cut "

Hmmmmm, Ok...........

A close friend who is to be with child in the coming months and unfortunately no longer with the father has asked him to be a Godparent. He is so pleased and excited.
As they both work for the same employer all be it in different areas and she is to be a single parent, she has also requested his permission to name him as her personal support. Therfore around the day of reckoning and upon her beckon call, he goes into surrogate father mode drops everything and gets paid leave to over see her well being.
He feels very honoured to be asked of this responsibilty.
As for the paid leave, a bonus surely ?

Finally, he is fortunate to have spent quality time on two seperate occasions in the last 4 days with someone who's musical talents he has really admired this past year and a half. It was all very unexpected, came totaly out of the blue, was instigated by the "Someone" and rather than trying to look for the reasons, rhymes or reckonings of the instigation he is for once going to go with the flow.

He is smiling to himself once more.

listening to Supertramps - Breakfast in America album on repeat !

sounds like you've had a fairly decent week.

sorry i didnt come and say hello last sat night, i spent all my time trying to locate my friends and avoid other people who i couldn't be bothered to talk/explain to.

i don't think im going to reach twice my current age, current bets are that i will expire at around 25

Smiling! Fucking excellent! good to hear man

I'd like to hear that CD sometime, what's it called? perhaps I can track a copy down

Everything in your journal sounds sweet! I'm happy for ya! And that whole paid-time offpersonal support thing, that sounds like a REALLY good plan. I've never heard of it before... I've heard of maternal leave, but not paid time off for someone else to help out too! (Is that something done only through your place of business, or is it like, part of the overall English Health care system or something?)

Rock on Scaliwag
