New Update:

The transplant operation was completed successfully last night at 3 AM. They had to repair the tricuspid valve on the right side of her heart. They also found a small hole in between the left and right side of the heart. The doctors decided to leave it alone. With the new lungs, the pressure on the heart will be much less, so the hope is that it will heal itself.

This morning she had a bit of a set back, which is somewhat common. The lungs are not working as expected yet. She has been put on a lung heart machine. They have also induced a comma. The idea is to give the lungs several days to recover from the shock of being transplated. The next week will be crucial.

Just before she left for the hospital yesterday, she sent an e-mail telling us that she was not as scared as she thought she would be.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts. To the Silly Board people, I adore all of you. You have been wonderful, particularly last night when I was scared shitless.
