I am adding a new occupation to my list. I have become an ordained minister, twice. I went to the Universal Life Church Ministry site, filled out their form and voila, I am a minister. Back in 2006 I was also "ordained" as an American Buddhist Church Minister. It is all a bit of a lark. I can actually legally marry people in most of the US(except for a few places like New York City). I am not sure if I ever would. All my siblings are married so there goes that. It goes to show you that anyone can say they are a minister. I think we should all do it and make all ministers obsolete, if we all are then who really cares that someone says they are!

I had a good weekend, except for a pretty funny Saturday night. A friend of my partner's who is a bit older got into a band. We went to see one of his gigs. We got there at 8, at the time they were supposed to start playing. The place was a banquet hall, which I found strange. As we enter the hall there were three people only. The guy that greeted us (and flirted with my partner) could have easily been my dad, later turned out to be the singer of the band. The band's equipment was there but the band were nowhere to be found (not even their cars were there). At about 8:30 people started to file in. Most were over 50...some by a lot. Hmmmmm! The band started to play at 9. Younger people showed up by then. Clearly all the people there were family and friends (mostly family). The music was strictly 60s covers, leaning towards pre-Beatles (puzzling as the keyboardist was in his early 20s and wearing a Social D t-shirt). After three painful hours, the show came to an end. I learned that little old ladies can dance and no matter how much I drink, I will not dance to Monkee's covers.
