today a miracle occured. i went on a bike ride.
to the general population, this might not seem like a particularly extraordinary occurrence at all, but for me, it's definitely a significant event. you see, i am a bike hater. if i can't drive or walk somewhere, i tend not to go. since i don't have a car here, i'm limited to bus schedules and distance which can definitely suck.
bikes though, bikes are the devil. i own a bike, in fact i had it in town with me last year. i think i rode it a total of 3 times and hated every minute of those three trips. i am not a bike person.
i used to like riding bikes. well, i assume so since i actually own one, but now that i think about it, i may never have really liked riding them. hm....
either way, after a long period of unuse, i decided to break out the bike one summer (many moons ago). upon hearing this the ears of one of my friends perked up and she asked me to accompany her on a bike ride. 'sure', i so foolishly said.
needless to say, that bike ride killed bike riding for me forever. my oh-so-eager friend never stopped to take into consideration my lack of physical fitness and proceeded to take me on the DEATH RIDE. no more biking for me.
so yeah, over the years (man, how much can one write about biking huh?) i've come to be known as the anti-biker, but no more ladies and gentlemen! i've finally sucked it up and gotten back on a bike!! *and the crowd roared* thank you for paying attention to such a ridiculous and insignificant rant.
