well, shitty. i had yet another set rejected. this time the the explanation was that it 'didn't showcase me in the best light'. i don't get it. i thought it was the best set that i'd done so far, but i guess not.
now i have no idea of what they're looking for. i'm questioning all my other ideas and i'm insecure. i'm just not sure what to do next.
all i can say, is that if my double set with the lovely abra, ever makes an appearance, i hope to god that they accept it because i had to pay bank to get it developed.
other than that, my life is pretty much the same. i'm still homeless, so i don't have the time to sit down and respond to all your notes. bad me.
i'm working, which is good as i have accrued a fair amount of debt after flying to LA to audition for the burlesque show. also, i'm going to school full time again. this term i'm taking intro to jewelry (metalsmithing), the spanish narrative and accounting. all good so far, but a decent amount of homework. not to mention that my spanish dictionary and reference books are all packed. bagh...
oh well, so far i'm surviving.
got paid today, thank god, but then i went straight on to pay my bills. i'm not broke again though, which is a nice change.
been working on my comic every sunday night at the very least. i've gotten 20-some odd inked and managed to come up with5 or so new ones in the last week. yay!
i've also been looking into places in town where i might be able to get a gallery showing. you can show comics in a gallery right? i guess i'll find out.
last weekend i went to portland with the lovely abra. it was nice to be trapped in a car with her for 2 hours. especially since she figured out how to get her window down (trust me, it's more complicated than it sounds). also, i got to eat mom-food. mmmm...
