oddly enough, i've gotten way more attention with the phrase, 'yeah, i do a comic' than the phrase, 'yeah, i pose on the internet'. i guess that's the difference between comic con attendees and the rest of the world...
my top picks of the alternative press expo (APE), in no particular order:
1. 'decease' from goodbyedoggy.com. though my main interest with them is submitting some of my own work, their first volume did contain an AWESOME story about the funeral service of a tibetan monk.
2. 'mantequilla del pato!', a comic done by trevor alixopolous and fredo. not on their website, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a ton of other cool shit that is.
3. 'the sky', by joe sayers. both issues (which i bought) and others can be found here. definitely one of my faves.
4. 'death takes a holiday', by jim massey and published by varmint press. sorry, no web address that i could find, but this guy is probably my second favorite and was interested in seeing my comic, so thumbs up for him. i bought all three of his books.
5. of course, the carbon based mistake by marc calvary (who's table i slaved at), and....
6. last but most definitely not least, 'vox', by leland purvis. his stuff is amazing, not to mention the underwater dreams.
