i was startled awake this morning by a poster falling on my head. after watching so many scary movies lately there was a split second when i wondered, 'is my axe murderer wearing diapers?'...
in other news, the sickness now bears symptoms of chronic coughing and sneezing. at least my throat doesn't hurt. i've been hitting all the weird herbal supplements that i've been able to find in my friends' houses and i think that might be helping to hold it at bay.
yesterday i FINALLY had my review at work, which, suffice to say went very very well. which also means that i'll finally be getting my raise. hallelujah! and thank god they're going to make up all the raise they owe me too. speaking of money, i heard that minimum wage is going up to $8/hour in january. true?
saturday i spent out in the woods assisting a suspension. it wasn't all bad since it's been a while since i've gotten to do anything like this, but many things about it sucked. here is the list o' suck:
1. it was one of my days off and i wasn't getting paid.
2. there wasn't enough room in the car so someone rode (an hour) in my lap there and on the way back (but since it was my boyfriend that didn't suck *too* much...
)
3. we thought everything would mostly be set up by the time we got there and we'd only have to supervise, only to spend the next 2.5 hours doing all the work that should have already been done.
4. it was past the time we expected to be back in town when we finally started the suspension.
5. we were cold and wet after having to crawl up and down a slippery ass trail and cross a stream every time we needed to adjust the height of the frame.
THEN
6 she was only up for about 30 seconds which wouldn't have been a problem IF she hadn't had told us this: 'i tried not to eat much today because i didn't want to puke...'
we could have wrung her neck. this girl has been pierced GOD knows how many times. she should not be making these amateur mistakes. for her to have made such a big fucking ordeal about her first suspension, without ever having gone through a test run in the shop is just ridiculous and disrespectful.
not to mention that she didn't thank any of the volunteered labor on the way out for her personal circus.
needless to say, she's going to have to eat a lot of crow before she's going to get any favors from the shop again.
in short, that trip didn't *completely* suck, but was detrimental to my health and good nature.

Other than that, I've been very well behaved; perhaps too much so!
