thank you all for the kind words...i apologize for the dramatics earlier, it was just a shock to be turned down for a job that i was in fact, OVERQUALIFIED for because of my anxiety problems. I developed a panic disorder about 6 months after I had my son, and have not been working since before i was even pregnant with him because my store closed and i decided to go back to school full time. I am a huge type-a personality with a need to feel accomplished. Being a housewife drives me insane...I feel like I could be doing so much more with my life (not that i don't totally realize that being a housewife IS a full-time job, because it certainly is, and some people feel fulfilled by it, which is great!). Don't get me wrong, i love my son to death and love spending time with him, but I just NEED to work...it's in my blood. It's who I am...
So, to hear that I was denied because I was quote unquote "TALKING TO THE GROUND" was a bit difficult to deal with. I feel like I don't even recognize the person in the mirror anymore. I was once independent, self-sufficient and almost overly confident. Now it is hard for me to even go to the store without a fight, and I thought I did really well with the interview. So...it was just a hit below the belt to hear that my new issues officially affected how I was received in an interview. So much so that i was beat out by a kid who worked under me at my last job. I mean, he is a great guy and an excellent employee, but I know that I could do more for the store than he would even think to do. It's all about initiative, and he just never took it upon himself to increase store sales, marketing capabilities, ANYTHING! So, I just feel disappointed in myself and fucking pissed off about it.
Again, thank you for all the kind words. Sorry for more whining- I just felt the need to explain a bit better.
And now that i've done that! i'm going to stuff my sorry face with a vicodin and chinese food and then smoke A LOT of pot before passing out tonight. Problem solved
Who's worried now?! NOT THIS GIRL!
