From the time I was 13 till about 17 I rode my skateboard every where I went. From one side of La Mirada to the other. Often I'd take the bus down to La Palma in Buena Park and ride the rest of the way to Sadlands. Then I got a car and I started driving to the places I wanted to skate and the transportation part of skateboarding died away.
Today I rode my skateboard to go mail a letter at the post office. It was as much fun as I've had riding anything in a while. Olling up curbs and taking a "short cut" through the church to hit some benches on the way was a fucking blast. Helped remind me of why I am and always will be a skateboarder, not that I ever forgot.
Oh, and there is nothing better then Dublin Dr. Pepper
