I just talked to my union rep, and he said it's a shame I didn't get a hold of him before my Unemployment appeal, as he wins most of his clients' cases. However, because this is a decision based on a precedent, he believes we would have had less of a chance. He thinks that appealing the judge's decision now would be futile, so he's going to go over my termination papers with me to see if he can find a snag. He also told me that my job could have appealed the judge's decision had he ruled in my favor at the appeal. Never knew, but makes sense.
The Department of Fair Employment and Housing helps people get their jobs back if they were unfairly fired.
Maybe I can find an attorney if I still want to pursue Unemployment?
