I was fired from the Lusty Lady co-op, and I think it was my 3rd anniversary, too. Went to work, was called into the office mid-shift by my coworkers/members of the board, and told that I was terminated and will never again be rehired because of a history of lateness. Oh, but they liked me, and it was "nothing personal". But I had to clear out my locker right after work. And I didn't have to finish my shift if I didn't feel like it. Excuse me, but I'm evicted with no place of my own to go to at the end of the month because of my financial situation - the cat's vet bills, having to take time off work after my hit-and-run motorcycle accident, you know the drill... Yes, I'm going to finish my motherfucking shift, ladies, I need the goddamn money! This is cockshit. Others with shadier "histories" have gotten off with a 2-week suspension! My union shop steward is working on a grievance, bless her valiant soul.
Haven't received a reply from the birth mother yet, but then again, it was only 9 days ago that I mailed the letter.
Sorry if I haven't been able to reply to everyone's posts! I'll try to get to them soon.
