Sorry I've been away and basically only come here to update friends about projects. Trying to change that.

Anyhoo, I'm excited to announce that today, Sunday, August 16, is the release event and signing for my new novel, 'Ghosts In Bones,' from – 7:00pm at The Dark Entry: 2589 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley, California 94704

There WILL be cupcakes--vegan ones.

Sumiko Saulson, deTraci Regula, and Elva Nelson-Hayes will be reading from their books as well.

Check out this blog on Horror Addicts! and this Examiner article!

You can buy the book in trade paperback format and on Kindle.

Amazon has the paperback, too.

Pallas De Fiore, an eccentric and gutsy performing artist bang in the crosshairs of midlife, is stalked by a mean case of anorexia nervosa, which she has dubbed The Beast. This frustrating, frightening, and utterly illogical disease is a lethal opponent against which she has no insurance, so treatment seems unlikely. Fed up with watching her hijacked brain surrender her spirit to human enablers, societal stigma, and her own ambivalence, several of Pallas’s friends opt to take action. Will the stubborn US healthcare system open its doors so she can regain her creative core and embark on a recovery adventure?

Reviews:

On the surface Pallas is a carefree, creative and beautiful woman. But the 'beast' that lurks in her mind tells a different story. 'Ghosts In Bones' shares the stark and terrifying truth about living as an adult with an eating disorder. The torrid confusion caused by this debilitating mental illness is evident, and Serena (as Pallas) lays this out with courage and honesty. Despite recent advances in the understanding of eating disorders, it is clear from her suffering and difficulties accessing appropriate treatment with state insurance that so much more needs to be done. This is an eye-opening book.
—Cate Sangster - author of 'Ed Says U Said' and 'Food to Eat'

'Ghosts in Bones' is a phenomenal and brave story that takes the reader on a journey to the depths of the eating disorder darkness.
—Grace Summer - author of 'I Will Not Give Up On My Daughter'

Please come! <3

Love,

Thora Zine

I just found out. When she didn't answer my message in November of 2020, I thought she's just busy and we'll catch up later. At my age a few years pass quickly and I didn't imagine that she was gone. I never wanted to see this day.
