Back from Paris. Was beautiful and it was great to see some of my old friends, but life there is even more ludicrously expensive with the euro, and ironically, now that there's a goth scene, being a freak is dangerous (to the freak, that is).
Prague is gorgeous with its castles and churches, though stickily layered in beer and Americans, and hotels are expensive and have foam pads for beds. Ours had an air conditioner - almost unheard of. Had a blast at the Wave Gotik Treffen fest in Leipzig, Germany. Saw Arcana play - they're one of my favorite bands ever. I gave them one of my Protea cd's and they're going to give it a listen and email me back with their thoughts.
One thing about Amsterdam: DON'T eat the space cakes.

as for (the band) Isis, i'm not sure of their devotion to the Egyptian goddess, but they are fantastic musicians. you may like them, you may not. some info:
