I just saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 for the first time last night. I liked some things about it and didn't like others. Here are things I want to say about it:
1. Is it really necessary for David Carradine to talk so much? Most of what he says is kinda stupid, in my opinion, and his voice is icky.
2. Actually unlike most Tarantino movies, the dialogue in this and Vol. 1 is pretty shitty. And not shitty in a Engrish kung fu movie way, shitty in an overly philosphical high school creative writing way.
3. Two different characters say "coup de gras" or however you spell it at two different times. It's like Tarantino has a word of the day calendar and can't resist using his 50 cent words at every opportunity.
4. Why reveal the Bride's actual name half way through the second movie? Why not keep it hidden?
5. When Beatrix is in Mexico with that old retired pimp, what is up with the girl that comes up to get their tequila? I don't understand what's going on there.
5b. That old retired pimp has a thick Spanish accent yet supposedly he's a Mexican mob boss. That really pisses me off.
6. Bill is a terrible father. Who tells their daughter they shot their mom, then lets her watch Shogun Assasin? Perhaps Beatrix's point about Bill fucking up their daughter is correct.
7. I liked the music a lot
8. I didn't like the slow, overly enunciative, affected way Uma spoke most of her lines. I don't know if that was a creative choice, but it bugged me.
