My arm hurts. frown I just had to get an MMR shot because stupid school needs to have record of the vaccinations before you can register for next semester, and apparently my doctor's office has no medical records of me before the age of 17. Suck.

Benefit concert was pretty cool, lots of different stuff going on. I really had no idea what was going on...

Getting shots definitely sucks. I had to get a tetanus booster in 2003 due to a workplace injury. That fricking shot hurt worse than the injury (slicing a big gash into my finger).

I had expected more when I made the switch from Big Army to Special Operations. Too bad Big Army has infiltrated the Group Support Battalion en masse.

I realized last night that the day my boyfriend is supposed to leave for Iraq, I have to go to a 3 hour rehearsal and then a couple hours later sing happy holiday songs in front of an audience. And do it again the next night.
I told him this, and he said that they might be leaving sooner, they said people will start leaving...

September 28th my choir is singing on an MS benefit concert. The tickets are $10 (I believe, might be a few dollars more), it's in the King Center concert hall on Auraria Campus. Come!

A very weird thing just happened.

I had a job interview for the Body Shop today. I get there, and a lady (I believe she's the assistant manager) tells me that the store manager left early so she'll have to do the interview. Okay. She asks me a few questions about school, working at the theater, etc. Right.

She says that they do a lot...

Today a guy drove his car over a tree and almost into a building across the street from me. Sooo drunk. At like, noon. FAIL. Picture of the failure can be seen in my phone cam folder.

Crazy people have taken my darling Kittun. I am distraught.

Now I have to go finish my boot drawing for class tomorrow. Woooo.
(I may bitch about...

You know what's crazy? I never think for once that my special someone is going to run off with Jody. I think if I had that lack of faith, I'd end it before it got that far.

On the flip side, if I were leaving her in an Army town (not the Springs, that doesn't count, but like Sierra Vista, AZ or Fayetteville, NC), I would be 100% certain that they boys would be trying thier damnedest to get her to cheat. Because I've seen it... Joe (as a concept and a whole) is a fucking scumbag about that.
poolboy6:
Well, in his defense, it's hard to deny what you see all of the time. I can't speak for Colorado much, since I really only spent two months there before I deployed, but EVERYWHERE else I've gone, it's maddening to see how rampant adultery is in the Army. It blew my mind. I'd say just do your best to let him know that you're not part of that culture, so there's nothing for him to worry about.

I r nerd. My friend just showed me a comic on deviantart. This, in point of fact. Anyway, the artist said "ten points for anyone who can figure out what Matt's playing", and Amanda was like, "What? How are you supposed to know? It has one word!"
So I looked at it, saw a few music notes and the word 'GO!', and said, "Oh,...

Last night I finished reading Labyrinth by Kate Moss... it was pretty much wonderful. I got quite the enjoyable history lesson, and found myself researching a lot about the Albigensian Crusades. It was really cool how she managed to get all that in there and still make a great story revolving around characters, and connecting them to modern day characters. Awesome.

But now that I...

I'm trying to get through Mists of Avalon, at the insistence of my friend Jenny. I'm finding it terribly easy. I think I'm having trouble with suspension of disbelief (as it were--basically removing preconceptions from OTHER Arthurian stories I've read). I just can't dig on an Ygraine sympathetic to Uther. Part of the whole deal to me is Uther's use of Merlin's magic for the wrong reasons showing why he isn't fit to wield Excalibur and unite the Britons.

And I'm also reading Islam for Dummies and The Koran for Dummies, but that's for work-related purposes.
poolboy6:
I took a class on the Arthur legend at Penn State. I've been kicking the idea around of doing a set of stories, which would, in effect, be a log of a King Arthur Pendragon RPG campaign, with characters doing things in the backdrop of the greater legend.

Because it's not likely I'd ever be able to actually run a KAP game for a few years (since I won't be in one place long enough to go from the rise of Uther to the Death of Arthur, and anything less would just lack payoff), it lets me enjoy the depth of the legend.

What keeps me from it now is finding characters that will talk to me that aren't either overdone or just blah.

I had quite the scare today. I was up in Evergreen for a bit, and when I came home my little kitten Bella was gone! Apparently she had gotten out of the upstairs window. frown I couldn't find her anywhere, I was walking all over my neighborhood and freaking out. So after searching all afternoon, my sister came home from work and looked (she couldn't find...
