so what's new in my world?
not much.
I've been working like mad because it's that special time of year again: MIDTERMS!
I had 3 tests and 2 papers due last week, now I have buttloads of reading to do to start for next week... what's on the plate?
The Odyssey
Antigone
Oedipus Rex
2 Shakespeare plays (I can't remember which ones)
as well as my usual dose of Latin and History reading
plus I just found out my Latin-translated copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is arriving any day now

I also finally got "officially" accepted at UAA, so now I can meet with the head of the English department and go over the courses I need to take to best suit my goals. It should be awesome-cake.
I've started researching grad-schools already... I know it's early, but I have to start preparing now if I'm going to stand a chance of getting in to the ones I want. So far the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland look like winners to me, both have Masters Degree programs in Classical Latin, English, and Religious Studies with options of getting a Ph.D. after that. Maryland sounds cool but it's right next door to DC, so I think rent will be disturbingly expensive. UofV is in Charlottesville, which means it'll be less expensive, but at the same time... it's Charlottesville. C'Mon.
Anyway kiddies, I should run like the frozen arctic wind that's been plaguing my existence of late. Gotta start that reading, but I've read most of those already so it should be easy to refresh myself.

p.s. Oh yeah, if anyone knows of a good GRE prep guide, tell me, because I'm going to have to start prepping for that as well.

Aye, midterms are coming up for me, too. We're only into the semester by..what, five weeks? Six? Out of sixteen?
I like The Odyssey (well, the parts I've read) and Oedipus Rex. Have a blast with the readings..
